FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is MIND OF GOLF?

"MIND OF GOLF" is a series of large-format original works by Ralf List. Each piece depicts not a golf scene, but the moment just before the decisive shot—and what is going through a golfer's mind at that moment.

What's the story behind the golf ball in the pictures?

Each piece features an oversized golf ball—40 cm in diameter and weighing 1.4 kg. It is custom-made for each specific painting using a 3D printer, incorporated into the canvas, and only then painted—not a found object, but an integral part of the artwork itself.

Are any other real materials used in addition to the golf ball?

Yes—in “THE BUNKER,” for example, real bunker sand is incorporated into the canvas. Each work combines classical painting with real, three-dimensional materials, in keeping with the specific moment it captures.

Are the works originals or prints?

All works from *MIND OF GOLF* are one-of-a-kind—no limited editions, no reprints. Each original is hand-signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Who is Ralf List?

Ralf List, born in Aachen in 1963, is an artist and the founder of BrandArt by List. With MIND OF GOLF, he is exploring a purely psychological subject for the first time. Learn more about him on the artist page.

What is "THE ART OF GIVING"?

THE ART OF GIVING is the charity initiative associated with MIND OF GOLF: Ten original works of art are provided free of charge to ten selected golf clubs in ten countries and are subsequently auctioned off to benefit a good cause. Learn more on the charity page.

What happens to the proceeds from the auction?

That is entirely up to the respective golf club—the initiative does not specify a particular purpose.

How much does it cost for a golf club to participate?

Nothing. The artwork will be made available to the golf club free of charge for the agreed-upon period.
